Corporate Social Responsibility statement

Grass Under Foot is a responsible organisation committed to ensuring our impact on the environment and the resources we use is minimised whereas our commitment to local economy, heritage, community and sustainability is maximised. To us, CSR is about ethical practises in business on a local and global stage.

In order to understand, manage and plan to reduce our environmental impact, we have developed an Environmental Policy that sets out key objectives and actions for us to support local and global reductions in carbon emissions and to make best use of limited natural resources in a responsible way.

In our workplace

In the workplace, we believe is where our responsibility starts. We are committed to providing:
• Good workplace standards
• Decent health and safety provisions
• Fair pay and fair treatment to all employees
We aim to employ a workforce that reflects the diversity of our customers. Our employment policies, including a commitment to equal opportunity, are designed to attract and retain high-calibre people, regardless of age, gender, race, religion, disability, nationality or sexual orientation. It is our policy to provide staff with training and career development, so they can grow and develop within the company. We offer flexible working where practicable, to help people achieve a work-life balance.
1) Grass Under Foot believes effective employee communication and consultation is particularly important in achieving our business objectives. We value employees’ opinions and seek to actively involve them in the decision-making process.
2) Grass Under Foot expects every member of staff to take responsibility for their performance and to work together to achieve our goals.

Locally
Grass Under Foot is an active member in a number of local communities in the area in which we tour and aims always to be a good neighbour. We make a positive contribution to the North Wales region by bringing jobs for it’s local people. We also bring theatre to the non theatre going audiences of the region, and have a commitment to also serve the poorest sections of this area with a fair ticket pricing policy. We encourage community arts groups to become involved our productions in a way that enhances their well being and community togetherness. We actively seek partnerships in the third sector and encourage stakeholders, partners and staff to nominate future third sector partners. Some of our partners include:
• Metaphysique Theatre Company
• Fintshire Mind
• Bailey Hill Heritage Park
• Theatr Clwyd

Globally

Grass Under Foot understands how our actions can have an impact on a global scale, particularly in relation to environmental issues or issues of poor working conditions and discrimination. We have developed policies such as an environmental policy, a data protection policy and a diversity policy to ensure that we understand and manage our global impacts.
