Our Green Promise

Grass Under Foot has based its values on the 12 principles of permaculture. In our case, not permanent agriculture, but permanent culture. In particular, we are guided by the principles of diversity, experimentation, low environmental impact, and celebration of those on the margins. We will also be looking at how we can make our pop-up theatre experience physically as well as artistically accessible to all members of the community.

Permaculture farming produces high yields. We will use these principles to make our creativity grow, flourish and produce the same.

SUSTAINABLE TOURING

Grass Under Foot is also committed to a green and sustainable touring structure with as little impact on the environment as possible. We aim to be zero waste and net carbon neutral by 2027. We will aim to do this by having the 4 keystones of a circular economy very much in mind. These are:

  • to use fewer materials;
  • to use materials with long life;
  • to use recycled materials;
  • to use materials that are biodegradable.

We also aim in the coming years to use renewable energy sources wherever possible to power our productions and infrastructure.
